Vineyard Notes

Three excellent Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir vineyards.  Clone 777 from Zotovich Vineyard makes up about two-thirds of this blend. Grown in white sandy soil, close to the ocean, these grapes are rich with bright almost perfume-like Pinot Noir flavors. Generous elements of rich texture and complex flavor are added to this blend with Pinot Noir grapes from Mormann and Turner vineyards, located in the hills just to the north of Zotovich Vineyard.

Harvest:  September 2nd to 16th, 2015

Production Notes

Fermentation:  Crushed into small open top fermenters and cold-soaked for two days, the must was inoculated and fermented on the skins for two weeks to develop full rich flavor and structure.

Cooperage / Aging:   The wine was aged for 9 months in French oak barrels (10% new, 90% 2-5 year old).

Bottling Date:  June 17, 2016
